Join us in a celebration of the Chesapeake
Bay.
The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum will be hosting the 2nd Annual
BAY DAY event at our St. Michaels campus on Saturday, April 19.
This day-long (10 am to 4 pm) family exposition and festival will
feature environmentally focused exhibits, demonstrations and programs
presented to educate and engage the public in the stewardship of
the Bay and its resources.
We are asking you to participate by providing a display about your
organization, and to staff it throughout the day. Your presentation
might include a table-top exhibit, interactive activities, ongoing
demonstrations, even live animals! The Museum will be providing
two large (40 x 100) tents, enough to hold approximately 40 exhibitors
and demonstrations. A special kids' area is also planned with ongoing
activities designed specifically for younger visitors and their
families.
Thanks to early support from David Wheeler Auto Park of Easton,
we will be able to begin promoting the event very soon. Your speedy
sign-on will guarantee that you are listed on the first round of
press releases and advertisements.
We hope you will join the list of non-profit and for-profit groups
participating in the event. The information
sheet will provide more details on the plans for the day. The
registration form will allow you to describe your needs to us, and
provide us with the contact information we will need to add you
to the program.
If you have any questions at all, please contact Robert Forloney,
Director of Education, at rforloney@cbmm.org,
and we will respond to you right away.
I hope you will join us in this very worthy endeavor. As there
are no other major Earth Day events in this area of the Eastern
Shore, we anticipate a very good turn out of both exhibitors and
visitors. Reserve your place soon!
