About Education Programs
The Museum is an educational resource for teachers, both at our Navy Point campus and in the classroom itself. Our Breene M. Kerr Center for Chesapeake Studies has developed innovative programs for educators for grades three through six to teach their students about the crabbing and oystering industries of the Chesapeake Bay.

We also offer a variety of school, student, and group programs for visiting the Museum, as well as summer classes and camps.

For Educators

Chesapeake's Best Crab Cakes: A Study in Geography, Social Studies, and Economics is a school-based program for third graders which focuses on the relationship between the natural environment and the way people live and work on the Bay.

Oystering on the Chesapeake is a series of multi-disciplinary explorations designed to introduce students in grades 4, 5, and 6 to the economic, environmental, and cultural significance of the oystering industry of the Chesapeake Bay.

Student Tours & Field Trips including land-based and on-the-water programs.
