About Donors and Capital Initiatives
From 1997 to 2001, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum undertook the
most significant capital campaign in its history. The successful campaign
for "Preserving the Heritage of the Bay" raised more than
$18.3 million toward capital projects and endowment.
This campaign helped create a solid foundation
on which the Museum can build. To position
itself as a regional leader for the interpretation
and preservation of the Chesapeake Bay
in the twenty-first century, the Museum
has outlined ten
capital initiatives in accordance
with its vision and long range plan.
The Museum also has ongoing program and
operational needs, which are supported
by gifts to the Annual
Fund.
