Information Technology

Having the right tools for the job
Information is the core resource of every
business, and museums are no exception.
To keep pace with the demands of modern
museum archival scholarship and the publics
desire to have access to information,
the Museum must have the best technology
available.
We are committed to increasing public
awareness of the many and diverse campus
activities as well as providing accessibility
to the growing collection of digital historic
photographs, manuscripts, and other artifacts
related to the maritime heritage of the
Bay.
The first stage of implementing a campus-wide
network with broadband Internet access
on a fiber optic backbone is now functional.
Our website has been completely redesigned
and is continually being enhanced, and
we are reaching a geographically diverse
audience with our email newsletter. With
this foundation in place we are able to
move forward on our projects for Web Access,
Collection Digitalization, and further
refining our administrative processes.
