The Museum’s event calendar is your guide to educational classes, lectures, programs, exhibits, and concerts. Each year, the Museum also hosts the following special events tied to the seasons on the Chesapeake Bay.

Model Expo

Maritime Model Expo

Hosted by the Museum’s Model Guild and the North American Steamboat Modelers Association, this expo includes radio-controlled models powered by steam, battery, and wind. Static displays of highly-detailed and realistic models will be featured, as well as activities for children too!

Antique and Classic Boat Festival

Antique and Classic Boat Festival

This annual boat event is the largest of its kind in the Mid-Atlantic region! It features more than 100 antique and classic boats, boat building demonstrations, maritime artists and craftsmen, craft vendors, classic used boats, motors, and nautical flea market, along with live music, food, and more. This event is hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society International in cooperation with CBMM.

Jazzy big band sounds come alive on the Museum’s Tolchester Beach Bandstand at this special Independence Day celebration.  Stay into the evening to enjoy the St. Michaels fireworks over the Miles River.

Celebrate the Bay’s people, food, music, work and traditions. Enjoy live music, a variety of food items and wines from Maryland vineyards, maritime and foodways demonstrations, boat rides, and craft vendors.

Waterman

Watermen’s Appreciation Day
August

Meet Chesapeake watermen celebrating thir heritage. Watch professionals in action at a Boat Docking Contest or take a chance in the silent auction, featuring local artwork. Eat your fill at our crab feast, or enjoy hot dogs and cold beer while listening to live music. This event is sponsored by the Museum and the Talbot County Waterman's Association.

Mid-Atlantic Small Craft Festival

One of the nation’s premier small craft events!  Hundreds of amateur and professional boat builders and enthusiasts come from all over the region to display their skiffs, kayaks, and canoes.  Take part in demonstrations and workshops, or simply chat with the owners and watch these one-of-a-kind vessels race.

Frederick Douglass Day
Save the Date: May 5, 2012

Come learn more about Talbot County's favorite son and enjoy good food, music, educational exhibits and boat rides on the beautiful Miles River. All proceeds will fund the Frederick Douglass statue on the Easton Courthouse Square. Sponsored by the Frederick Douglass Honor Society and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
