Situated on the waterfront in historic St. Michaels,
the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum tells the stories of the
Bay and the people who have lived, worked, and played here.
Begin your
visit to the Museum at the Welcome Center where our staff
will welcome and orient you to the site by providing a campus
map and information about the day’s
events. Each day has a changing visitor experience – take a cruise
on the Miles River, catch a boat building skills demonstration
or check on a crab pot.
Visitors have the option of self-guided
and guided tours to explore the Museum’s permanent exhibits and unique
watercraft. Special exhibitions and seasonal
events throughout
the year bring visitors from across the country to experience
the bounty and culture of the Chesapeake Bay.
