Visitors to the Museum encounter Chesapeake Bay history first-hand through real people, real work, and original artifacts, visual arts, and indigenous water craft. Options to explore this history are offered through interactive exhibits, land and water tours, and special events. There is something different every day – get your hands wet exploring a waterman’s shanty, talk with a boat builder or visiting captain about his vessel, or climb to the top of an 1879 lighthouse for a view of the harbor. Other unique ways to visit our Museum are to come by boat, docking directly on our site, to host a wedding or private event with us, or to visit our Museum Store.
