Local Students' Talent Featured at The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum announced the winners of their Hooper Strait Lighthouse Art Poster Contest on Saturday, October 16 during the lighthouse's 125th anniversary celebration. Sponsored in part by a grant from the Talbot County Arts Council, the contest featured over 150 entries submitted by K-6 students from The Country School, Easton Elementary School, Easton Middle School, and Saints Peter and Paul School. Students were asked to create a poster with their artistic interpretation of the lighthouse to commemorate its 125th anniversary, and each of their entries reflected great talent, originality, and creativity. Each student who submitted an art entry received a "Certificate of Excellence" from the Maritime Museum for their participation in the contest. The contest's First-Place winners, Judges' Choice awards, and Honorable Mentions won special Museum prizes as well. The Maritime Museum would like to thank all the students and their art teachers for their enthusiastic participation in commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Hooper Strait Lighthouse!
