What to See & Do
The Museum’s eighteen-acre waterfront campus, with nine exhibit buildings and vistas of the beautiful Miles River, anchors the town of St. Michaels, Maryland, as a popular tourist destination. Each year, nearly 100,000 visitors to the Museum encounter Chesapeake Bay history first-hand. A visit to the Museum offers accessible history through real people, real work, and original exhibits.

• Our Calendar is your guide to the Museum’s educational classes, lectures, programs, and special events.

• Find out the latest Museum news in the What’s New section.

• Our interactive programs inform your visit to the Museum with real people, traditions, and a chance to try your hand as an apprentice in our Boat Yard.

• Take a peek at our exhibits.

• At our working Boat Yard shipwrights restore historic vessels and present interactive public programs.

• Find out what's available at our Museum Store.
