Skipjack Restoration Project: The Skipjacks

Once numbering in the hundreds, in 2002 only about a dozen skipjacks were commercially licensed to dredge for oysters. To be eligible for the Skipjack Restoration Project, vessels must be licensed by the Department of Natural Resources.

Since the program began in 2001, the following skipjacks have received repairs:
